The trail:

The trailhead begins just above the parking. Follow the small road up to the creek, and you see the start of the trail.

The first part of the trail is steep, and could be slippery as you move on rocky terrain. After a while, the trail crosses the creek, and after a few more strenuous moves, you're in easier terrain. The trail continues though the forest until you reach the first "balcony" with great views of Bergen. Just before this balcony you will see the trail from Ulriksbanen (start of the cable car) coming up on your right hand side.

From the balcony (which is just below the cable car), the trail continues steep upwards, over rocks. A couple of times you cross a bike trail, but do not follow this. You will reach a few more balconys before you meet the Langrinden trail coming from Montana. From the Langrinden trail junction, the hike up to Ulriken is straightforward.
