A nice hike in a turbulent weather period. It was snowing just before and just after I visited the top. By 20:00PM, it was -7 deg. C. on top, and a wind which contributed to a certain chill factor. The trail was incredibly icy and dangerous. Knowing each step of the route helps a lot.

1. The trail across Landaasfjellet (117KB) 2. Approaching the tower (184KB) 3. Landaasfjellet and Landaas (215KB) 4. The door to the gondola on Ulriken (212KB) 5. Bergen view from Ulriken (352KB) 6. Moon above Ulriken (123KB) 7. Reflections on Ulriken (125KB)

The mission was to compare my brand new GPS with my old one, regarding altitude precision. I should have picked a better evening for this, as a storm was on its way. I only got to experience the front winds, up to 16 meters per second, but it was a very wet experience. Mt. Ulriken is however a magnificient view when the elements are "dancing" around the tower.

1. Windy up by the tower (175KB) 2. Visibility drops (176KB) 3. Visibility is restored (115KB)
