Borgaskaret/Altfjellet from Borgo, 04.12.2004

This hike went from Borgo on a wet and foggy Saturday. The aim was to walk up Borgaskaret (which I've never done from the east), cross Altfjellet and descend via the trail from Grønetuva. I was granted permission to park by the uppermost farm, and left the car 13:30PM. Following the trail upwards posed no problems, but the forest trail was more a forest stream. Troll showed no interest in walking and was carried all the way to the top. We reached Altfjellet summit 14:15PM, and the weather was now quite ugly.

Troll was shivering and whining from the backpack. The wind was strong and the rain was pouring down. Amazing what noise the wind can create. I pulled out my GPS to make a waypoint, and the GPS said "turn off and restart!" I've noticed a couple of times that my old Garmin from 1998 is struggling in ugly weather. Without a safety net, I had second thoughts about moving about up here in the fog, and headed down to Borgaskaret again. Troll agreed to walk back down the forest, and we were back at the car 14:50PM.
