Our short Hordaland holiday had almost come to an end. In 3 days, Holmanuten (1399m), Elvershei (1376m), Breifonn (1616m), Midnuten (1463m), Kvitenuten (1467m) and Stavsnuten (1661m) been visited.

Today, we had just descended from Stavsnuten, and I was able to convince Anne that one last hike (to Sveigen)  would be a very, very smart thing to do. Whether it was my charm or that she assumed it was actually a smart thing to do, I don't know. In any case, we drove the 2,2km from the Stavsnuten trailhead in Middyrdalen to Sveigen trailhead near Dyrskar. By 1:55pm, we were on our way up the mountain.

After a steep ascent from Dyrskar, the terrain gradually leveled out as we approached the broken-up part on the upper part of Sveigen. We found some really cool rock here and there, and even crossed fields of snow before taking on the final (and slightly rugged) pitch up to the summit plateau.

We reached Sveigen summit 2:55pm - one hour after heading out from Dyrskar. The vertical gain was approx. 450m meters. The hike was perhaps not very exciting, but over the years I've grown fond of Haukelifjell, and every time I get to come back here is a good time. And I guess that Anne enjoyed being up here too...

We returned via our ascent route and returned to the car 3:55pm (!) - 2 hours sharp after leaving. We were a bit hungry and decided to have a late lunch at Haukeliseter before returning to our base-camp and final night at Røldalsterrassen. Lake Ståvatn was particularly still today...

Goodbye to Hordaland for now. I really look forward to come seeing you again!
