I had been to Sukkertoppen after dark last winter, but this was the first trip down "Trollråsa" with headlamp. The trip down the west ridge wasn't especially more tricky than usual, but it was a bit more time consuming.
A dozen kids with headlamps had some sort of activity on the road between Hessa stadion and the Aquarium. They noticed me quite early, and it was a bit weird descending Trollråsa with a dozen headlamps pointing at me, 250m below.
Eventually, they got concerned and shouted;
MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN ! ARE YOU STUCK???
---Nooooooooooooooooooooo
..pause...
MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN ! BLINK IF YOU ARE STUCK!!!
I made damned well sure I kept the headlamp steady for the next minute. The last thing I wanted was a rescue operation to take place here.
A nice hike, but oh, so wet and boggy. Troll spent close to 10 minutes in the shower before I decided he was clean enough.
