It's quite amazing that it's taken me all these years to get to Storhornet - a peak that I can see from my house. But today - Anne and me finally paid this top a visit. We drove almost all the way up to the parking below Skåravatnet - a damaged (toll) road made us volunteer to proceed the last 400 meters on foot.

It was a quick hike in light rain; we left the parking 12:55pm and reached the summit at 2pm. The distance was 2,5km and the vertical gain approx. 470m. After a short stay on top, we descended to the cabins by the lake and had lunch. I had the pleasure of serving Anne hot tea for the 3rd day in a row. A couple of things have changed since the Svalbard trip...

We considered a round trip hike via Skoratinden, but the weather didn't put us in the right mood. Instead we took a steep snow dive into the basin, before returning to the car at 3pm.
