Today, the
first snow of the 2009-2010 winter season reached sea level on Ytre Søre
Sunnmøre. On days like these, I stay in the local region as plowing of the
the secondary roads doesn't seem to have a high priority. The plan was to hike Melshornet by Hareid, but as the road along Snipsøyrvatnet hadn't been plowed, I turned around.
Moreover, I couldn't even see a glimpse of Melshornet, totally covered by a massive
snow shower.
Things seemed
brighter (literally) on the coastline, so I drove to Gåsneset to hike
Roppehornet - which towered high above the shore - white and shiny. But a major
snow shower was on its way in, so I didn't expect the sunny moment to last.

The snow
shower came in as I passed Uldalen, and during the rest of the hike, there was
nothing much to be seen. But Roppehornet is always a nice walk, regardless of the
weather..
