After having ..
scrambled Skardsettinden and picked up Troll in Terje's barn, I figured that it was time the dog got some exercise. The poor dog had spent most of the day in the car, for the most part in the car on the road. Now it was his turn. I drove up to the Raudtua trail head near Lake Herskarvatnet, and by 14:30PM, we were on our way up the forest. Troll didn't mind walking, but seeing this ol' comrade suffer from uphill and high temperatures was no fun. His red/pink tongue was turning grey from dust, and I decided to carry him most of the route upwards. I had spent my last water on Skardsettinden and the dog and I was getting mighty thirsty. And hungry too. I had brought an apple, but it just didn't .. cut it. The walk up the ridge was uneventful, and we reached the top 15:25PM. It was a nice and hot day, and a good rest would have been appropriate. But I was a long way from home, hungry and thirsty. The stay at the top didn't last long. Troll was just as thirsty as I was, so that was priority #1. Just above the forest, I heard running water. The sound and taste was heavenly. We were back at the car 16:25PM and headed back home to Ålesund. |
