Introduction

Mefjellet is located above Fjøra by Norddalsfjorden, just east of Sylte (Valldal). The mountain is very accessible thanks to the road up to Hauge (400m, signposted Selbostad) and a tractor road up to Nysætra (750m). From Nysætra, the distance to the summit is only 1,2km.

From Mefjellet, you can also do a round trip via Bjørstadnakken (965m). The summit offers a great view towards the peaks west of Valldalen and the mountains across Norddalsfjorden. You can also see many of the major peaks in Sunnmørsalpane, like Slogen, Smørskredtindane and Brekketindane.

Primary factor:

Mefjellet (Norge 1:50,000: 1100m, Økonomisk Kartverk (ØK): 1099,95m,  UTM 32 V 415156 6910021) has a primary factor of 190m towards the higher parent mountain Blåfjellet (1575m). The defining saddle (approx. UTM 32 V 415889 6909424) is found between the two tops.  Ref. 1:50,000 map (20m contours), the saddle is within the range 920-940m, interpolated to 910m.
