On this perfectly good Sunday, I chose to drive to Sotra and hike Liatårnet one more time. This time for the pictures. My last hike was in September '99, and it rained so heavily, that I hardly could see the radar station.
I couldn't quite understand, back in '99, why the road on the map didn't go all the way to the top. On this hike, I learned that the radar station was not the summit. Liatårnet was further to the southwest, so the Sunday started off with a new summit! And the weather allowed for some views.
Nothing much to say about the hike, except that hiking the last part up to Liatårnet in winter calls for caution if there is deep snow. If your leg gets stuck while your body is moving, you could easily break a leg up there.
And the view was fantastic. After this short hike, it was due for a up-tempo hike to Ulriken, once back in Bergen.
