Christmas eve, and I'm well on my way to reach 150 hikes to the Ulriken massif before the year comes to an end. For a change, I hiked this mountain while there was still daylight.

A nice hike in a turbulent weather period. It was snowing just before and just after I visited the top. By 20:00PM, it was -7 deg. C. on top, and a wind which contributed to a certain chill factor. The trail was incredibly icy and dangerous. Knowing each step of the route helps a lot.

The mission was to compare my brand new GPS with my old one, regarding altitude precision. I should have picked a better evening for this, as a storm was on its way. I only got to experience the front winds, up to 16 meters per second, but it was a very wet experience. Mt. Ulriken is however a magnificient view when the elements are "dancing" around the tower.

A late evening hike to Ulriken, trying to capture the various colors of the tower, using a new camera setting. It was windy, rainy and 0,5 deg. C. Quite cold and unpleasant.
