Winter wonderland

We had been warned throughout October; the snow came creeping lower and lower, day by day. And every year it's the same shock, when the snow hits the ground and everybody's still on summer tyres. Myself included. But after changing tyres in the early morning hours, I could drive safely after work to the Høgkubben trailhead and enjoy my first walk on snow, since ... well, since not too long ago, actually. Norwegian summers are indeed short...

Then the weather settled, and I could enjoy amazing sky and weather in all directions. I went through a tiny snow storm before the sun came out and made the rest of the walk enjoyable.

Today's walk went to Høgkubben, via Turheisa. How wonderful it is to walk with rainshowers all around, except where you are. I'm so glad I ignored the rain back home, and did the hike. These are moments I really can't stand missing out on..
