Access

From Osøyro, follow highway 552 northbound along Samnangerfjorden. At the Lønningsdal bay, exit towards "Lønningsdal". Drive approx. 700m (estimated distance) and turn left. Drive approx. 1,8Km towards Midtsætret and locate a forest trail on your left hand side. Find parking nearby.

The route

The route description is not very precise. I did not make the necessary notes when I did the hike. to get more accurate information. In any case, follow the forest trail upwards. When you pass the Midtsæterfjellet's south ridge, follow a trail up to Midtsæterfjellet. From here on, follow the high ridge across Rindafjellet, Sauskolten and Søtefjellet towards Sveningen. You can follow a vague trail most of the way, and the direction is obvious, providing no fog.

See the main Sveningen page for descent alternatives.

Notes

This is a popular trail from the south, and you can follow route 2 back towards Øvredal. A demanding, but rewarding round-trip.
