Jan 22 2008:This was one of my finest walks ever. Per, Kristin and I had been up here the evening before, breaking trail in deep powder snow. A nice, bright (although after dark) evening, but with little views. A snowfall was on its way. Troll impressed everyone by descending all the way from the top. With this deep snow, I was sure that I would have to carry him. But it's amazing what good company can do.. But this evening offered a full moon, wonderful shades in the forest, shiny crystals in the powder snow and no wind. Absolutely no wind. On this evening, I should really have been skiing a high mountain. But there was not a chance. The job has sometimes got to be first priority.
Now that the trail was broken from last evening, Troll even did half the ascent on his own. And with only
me around! No kidding, the dog likes snow. As long as the path is beaten down, that is. We reached the
top 19:30PM, and the moon was lighting up the country! I was wise enough
to bring the camera. No telling when we'll see another evening like this.
Some views from my front door, before the hike
