It was Friday afternoon, and I had been working in Ulsteinvik. I decided to head south and see new landscape. I chose Storevarden on Nerlandsøya as my destination. It was a 30Km drive, but it was a fine afternoon, and I didn't mind the drive. After parking, I noticed I had a screw deep inside one of the tyres. I wasn't sure whether it was losing air or not, so I checked the spare tyre. When was the last time I ever checked the spare tyre? The spare tyre had almost no air at all, and I had to go back to Fosnavåg to find a gas station. I concluded that it could wait to after the hike, and me and the dog left the trailhead 16:25PM.
The hike up to the top was quite straightforward. We reached the top 17:15PM and it was freezing cold up there. 3 deg. C. and a cold wind contributed to the short stay. And just as I was bringing out the camera, the sea fog came sweeping across the west coast, in tremendous speed. I decided not to visit Rjåhornet and headed back down to see how the tyre was doing. It was doing OK, and my spare tyre got fresh air at a local gas station in Fosnavåg. We arrived Hareid in due time for the 19:00PM ferry.
