From Bergen, follow highway RV580 towards Flesland airport. Exit towards "Krokeide" just after Lagunen shopping center. Follow signs to Austevoll. Take the ferry between Krokeide and Hufthamar. When arriving the island of Austevoll, drive 10km. (Turn right at the first roundabout, although both directions point to Bekkjarvik) After 10km, just after a bus stop on the right hand side, look for an unmarked exit on the lefthand side in a sharp curve. Turn left at the first junction and park your car there.

The route

There are two trails leading from the parking. Follow the one to the right - the red trail. At the next trail junction, take the left trail. The trail has red markers, and turns from old forest road into a trail closer to the forest. You will see two hills, where the rightmost is the highest. The trail takes you towards the left hill, but then turns towards the right. There is a lookout tower at the top of Loddo, which gives view over the treetops.

I did not bring a camera on my hike in 2000, but I will revisit Huftarøy and Selbjørn again and provide pictures from this area.
