I have a certain interest in Hasundhornet's west side gullies, and has previously scrambled both Klyftagylet and Klo-gylet. Then, a few months ago, a colleague (Terje) made me aware of a gully that I hadn't noticed. This route is between Klo-gylet and Kuftagylet, and my interest grew by the week. Finally, I had to go and take a look...

Getting through the bush near the road was just as painful as on the two previous hikes, but it was all forgotten when I reached the actual gully. It didn't take long before I ran into a problem. The gully demands climbing up an ugly point. I tried to find a way on the left-hand side, and needed some time to acclimatise to the steep terrain (around 40 deg.)

Finally, I found a route that would take me back into the gully, but the necessary psyche wasn't there. The move was exposed and if I had to turn around higher up, then I would have a serious problem. Moreover, a raven was constantly screaming above my head. I was obviously close to a nest, and decided that to leave the gully route for now.

I descended a bit and the scrambled up to the ridge to my right. The ridge was also quite steep, but now I had bush and trees to hold on to, and made good progress. Seriously steep terrain forced me even further right, where I found a place to advance on the ridge. Above this section, I was on easy street. I arrived on Hasundhornet 7:06pm - 1h:25m after heading out.

It was time to pick a descent route, and my choice fell on Klyftagylet. I knew that there was snow in this gully, but I didn't remember it to be very steep. But once in it, it was impossible to walk face out. If I hadn't brought my ice-axe, I could not have descended here. The descent went just fine, and in the lower section, I enjoyed Telemark-on-foot before having to fight more bush. 7:55pm, I was back at the car - 2h:15m after heading out.
